Choose a beach and travel dates to see NOAA tide predictions.

I built this planner to turn NOAA astronomical tide predictions into practical beach-planning windows for Higgins, Pine Point, Old Orchard, Mother's, Goose Rocks, Wells, Ogunquit and Short Sands. The family window is approximately two hours before through two hours after low tide, limited to typical beach hours of 7 AM–7 PM. NOAA supplies the underlying tide predictions, shown here in local time and feet relative to MLLW. Weather, surf and coastal conditions can change actual water levels. Tide predictions help plan beach time but are not for navigation.

How to use tide times when choosing a beach rental

How do I check Higgins Beach tide times?

Select Higgins Beach and your travel dates in the daily planner. The results identify the NOAA prediction station used for the beach, along with predicted high and low tides. A nearby station is a planning reference; conditions at your exact beach can differ.

Which Ogunquit rental week has the best low-tide beach hours?

Choose Ogunquit Beach in Find My Best Beach Dates, enter the month or season, and set the hours you prefer to visit. The tool compares Saturday-to-Saturday weeks by overlap with its low-tide planning window. There is no single best week for every family: the result depends on your dates and preferred hours, and does not indicate rental availability.

Does a low-tide window mean swimming is safe?

No. The window helps organize beach time; it is not a swimming-safety rating. Weather, surf, currents, water-quality advisories and posted local guidance still matter. Check local conditions before entering the water.

What can I read without running the planner?

Use the individual beach guides for parking, public access, family fit and rental-location tradeoffs. Start with the Higgins Beach family guide, Ogunquit Beach family guide, or compare all eight Southern Maine beaches. Actual tide times require a beach and date selection.

Find My Best Beach Dates

Choose a beach, the hours your family prefers to be on the sand, and a month or season. The planner ranks Saturday–Saturday 7-night rental weeks by how much of your preferred beach time overlaps the low-tide family window.

How the match works: the percentage shows how much of the beach time you selected falls inside the low-tide family window. Lower tide generally exposes more sand; this is tide-based planning only, not a weather, surf, or water-quality forecast.
